ACTITUDES HACIA EL COMPORTAMIENTO PROSOCIAL EN ADOLESCENTES QUE CURSAN EL CUARTO DE SECUNDARIA (Resumen)

Resumen

       Con la presente investigación se procuró aportar en el estudio de la problemática juvenil buscando impulsar las investigaciones sobre los adolescentes fuera de los temas tradicionales, tomándolos en cuenta como sujetos activos y protagonistas de su propio cambio y del resto de la sociedad.

       Mediante una investigación descriptiva y empleando un análisis de tipo comparativo, se describió las actitudes hacia el comportamiento prosocial de adolescentes de cuarto de secundaria de colegios privados de la ciudad de La Paz; y posteriormente se compararon los resultados obtenidos tomando en cuenta el colegio y el género de dichos alumnos.

       Los resultados permitieron concluir que independientemente del tipo de colegio, los estudiantes de cuarto de secundaria de colegios privados de la ciudad de La Paz presentan una elevada actitud hacia el comportamiento prosocial, no existiendo una diferencia significativa entre los colegios católicos, colegios de otras confesiones cristianas y colegios no confesionales. Donde las adolescentes de género femenino presentaron mayor actitud hacia el comportamiento prosocial que los adolescentes de género masculino.

       El observar elevadas actitudes hacia el comportamiento prosocial puede ser considerado como un potencial de los adolescentes de la ciudad de La Paz, logrando así empezar a relativizar el estereotipo de “adolescente problema”.

Sumary

      This investigation is a contribution to the problematic field of juvenile psychology, and seeks to push adolescence studies out of their traditional range by considering adolescents as active individuals and protagonists of their changes on themselves and the rest of society.

       Using a descriptive investigation with a comparative analysis, this research describes the pro-social behavioural attitudes in senior classes of adolescents in private schools in the city of La Paz; and then compares the results between the schools and the gender of the students.

       The results demonstrate that, independently of the type of school, the adolescents in senior classes of private schools in La Paz present an elevated pro-social behavioural attitude. There is no significant difference between catholic schools, other religious schools and secular schools and generally, the adolescent females demonstrate more pro-social attitudes than the male adolescents.

       The observation of high levels of pro-social attitudes could be seen as an indicator of the potential of adolescents from La Paz; and in doing so, help remove the negative and outdated stereotype of adolescent as problem.
